Since she has taken to her high chair so well, Hannah has now been sitting at the table with us the past few nights while we eat dinner. We pulled it right up to the table tonight (without the tray) and she seemed to enjoy being a part of the action!
Usually while we're making dinner, Hannah sits in her blue chair in the kitchen and watches us cook. Sometimes I'll narrate for her what we're doing, but usually she just plays happily on her own. We listen to children's music from Pandora on my laptop and if she starts to fuss, I'll dance to the music or Dan or I will sing to her.
We have been curious about her reaction to real food, and a friend of mine mentioned that she's been giving her son vegetables to play with while she makes dinner. We decided to try it and see what happened. Hannah held a piece of red pepper the other day, and tonight she played with a green bean.
She didn't know what to do with it - her first reaction in trying to get it to her mouth was to poke herself in the eye. Oops!
Once she finally got it into her mouth, she did NOT like the taste:
Guess we don't have to worry about her stealing all of our green beans anytime soon!
