Fun with Nana & Pop-Pop

Dan's parents were here this past weekend, and Hannah had a great time playing with them and with Tess (their basset hound puppy).  

While she didn't really like getting kisses from Tess, she loved having her in the house and was always looking for where Tess was.  She even liked petting her and playing with her tail by the end of the weekend!  She also stuck her tongue out whenever she saw Tess because she could see Tess' tail sticking out a lot of the time.  :)

On Saturday, we all went to the Children's Discovery Museum in Acton.  It was a really cute museum in an old Victorian house with lots of little rooms that had different themes.  They encouraged us to let Hannah dictate what we played with and for how long we stayed in one certain area - as you'll see, she really liked the "diner!"

The first room we went into was train-themed, and Hannah had fun playing with the cars (although I think that Daddy and Pop-Pop might have been having more fun setting up the track for her...)

The next room was the "Chain Reaction" room where there were lots of tracks and balls that you could send down them.  Hannah wasn't all that interested in the tracks, but she did really like the basket where the balls were kept... and she even made a nice friend who shared one of his balls with her! (to those of you who know him, this little boy reminded me of Brody!)

Then it was on to the water room!  Hannah was nervous at first, but then she LOVED it!  She and Nana had a lot of fun playing with the water toys and pouring water from one container to another... Dan and I tried to surround ourselves with a bubble wall, but neither of us was able to do it (you pull up on a giant bubble wand and try to bring it up over your head - I was only able to get it to my thighs before it popped).

The next room was jungle-themed, and Hannah had fun banging on bongos, sliding down a very fast slide, playing with this wobbly bridge, and holding all different stuffed animals!  Dan and his parents had fun trying on stuffed animals that were meant to be worn (it's hard to explain).

As I said above, her favorite part of the museum was the diner - she is definitely part of Dan's family.  She figured out right away how to pour "coffee" and then didn't want to stop!  I took a lot of photos of her in this room, but they basically all look like the two below:

Afterwards, we spent a little while playing with the toys outside of the museum...

She liked this, but was a little too short!

We went into the Science Museum there for a little while, but it was very hot and humid in the building and Hannah was definitely getting tired of being there.  She did like splashing in the water in one of the exhibits though!
