Gustafer Yellowgold

Last Saturday, we took Hannah to see a Gustafer Yellowgold concert at the Regent Theatre in Arlington. 

For those of you who aren't familiar with Gustafer, he's from the sun and now lives in the woods of Minnesota.  He's also the alter ego of Morgan Taylor, a cartoonist and musician.  Here's more about the character.  We first heard it on Pandora and really like the music!

The concert was amazing because throughout it, there were images running on the screen behind him while he was singing.  We didn't realize that all of his albums are also DVDs - we bought Infinity Sock after the concert.

It was a little bit slower music than we had been expecting, but I think Hannah still really enjoyed herself!  We made friends with the family sitting in front of us, and even swapped stories about the book Yummy Yucky (one of our favorites!).

One of the songs that Dan and I like best is called "Slim Gets In 'Em" - its about Gustafer's pet eel named Slim who likes to climb inside his socks.  Gustafer leaves them out all over the floor just so Slim can "get in 'em."  How silly!

We really enjoyed the concert, and can't wait to take her to more shows in the future.  We are cultivating a little music aficionado here, just like her daddy!
