Great Brook State Park

We took Hannah to Great Brook State Park in Carlisle, MA this past Saturday. We were curious about their petting zoo, and discovered that there are lots of kid-friendly things to do there!

Meeting a sheep

Peeking at the other sheep

Watching Daddy feed the sheep

Trying to feed it herself

Learning to open her palm so the sheep will off it - she didn't like this idea!

Looking at the chickens

Afraid of the goats...

until Daddy showed her what to do!

Besides the petting zoo and an ice cream stand, the park also has tons of hiking trails and a really nice pond with a lot of open space around it. Hannah loved seeing people riding their horses around the park and "talking" to all of the dogs we saw there.

She and Dan spent a long time at the edge of the pond looking at the water and the geese that were in it. She really wanted to touch the water, but we had heard that it was VERY cold!

Looking at a stick they found in the water

Touching the wet stick

Not the best photo, but at least it shows I was there too!

We're definitely going to go back there again - it was only $2 for parking and there's lots more to explore! Next time we'll probably go for a walk there too.

I'm compiling a list of things that we really want to do with Hannah this spring/summer around here - any suggestions?
