Hannah is making amazing progress with standing and walking!
New Year's Eve was the first time that I saw her stand by herself for a few seconds - it was SO exciting! Apparently she did it a few weeks ago at Gymboree with Dan, but not for nearly as long.
The other day she stood only holding onto the very tip of a towel that was hanging on the bathroom door. Twice today she stood for a few seconds unsupported! It seems like she's better at it when she doesn't realize that we've let go of her.
She is also much more comfortable with standing and doing things - playing with her toys, holding on to the gates in our living room, etc. Until a few days ago, she was very wobbly and would often stand on her tip-toes. A friend told me that that is actually an evolutionary reflex!
Now she's able to play while only holding on with one hand (or in the case of the second photo, with just her elbows!).
She is also starting to try and climb up on things, including the gate in the living room, the couch, and even the bathtub!
I don't have any photos of her trying to climb into the bathtub, but it's hysterical to watch. She still loves her bath-time so much that she gets really excited while the water is filling. She and Dan have a new game that they play. He lines up all of her bath toys along the edge of the tub, and she pushes them (or picks them up and drops them) into the water.
She now thinks it's fun to walk holding our fingers, and is even walking a little bit with her new doll carriage toy that my parents gave her for Chanukah. Tonight she tried to walk just holding on to the strings on Dan's sweatshirt, but she sat down almost immediately when she realized it couldn't hold her weight.
It's getting harder and harder to take photos of her because she likes to play with the string on my camera and wants to grab it every time I try to take her picture...
