More 4th of July

After having so much fun talking about the 4th of July, Hannah wanted to do even more activities, so we made Play-dough cookies - red, white and blue stars!

She enjoyed it so much, she wanted more colors of Play-dough!

We had a great time celebrating Independence Day as a family - we started off with strawberry and blueberry pancakes!

Then we went to our town's 4th of July parade - a first for all of us.  Hannah loved it; Ezra didn't like all of the sirens and loud noises, but did enjoy cuddling with Mommy and Daddy!  I think Hannah's favorite part was that a lot of the people in the parade were handing out candy.  She also really liked seeing all of the fire trucks (obviously!), especially the antique one that our friend Cam and his mom and dad were riding on (his dad is a fireman).

Afterwards, we got ice cream treats from the ice cream truck that was parked near us.  I've been telling Hannah about ice cream trucks for a while, so she was excited to try it - she got a Tweety bird ice cream pop and it turned into a drippy, gooey (FUN!) mess.

We went to the grocery store on the way home to pick up some essentials, and got the ingredients to make real cut-out cookies.  Ezra had so much fun in the shopping cart - I think he was actually annoyed when Hannah got in and he could only use one of the two steering wheels.

 

 

Hannah had a blast making the cookies - she had flour in her hair and there were sprinkles EVERYWHERE!  Unfortunately I didn't get any good photos of us making the cookies, but here is the final result - they were delicious!
