Hannah wore the tutu that Sally had made her for her birthday (when I went to find a link to it, I just discovered that I never posted about her birthday party! Oops!) and butterfly wings that we had bought for her at Ikea (she didn't know about them until this morning).
She was really excited about the costume and kept asking me to pretend to be a spider and "catch" her in my web (which I then discovered was because of the episode of Stella and Sam she had just watched).
The festival was in Greeley Park, which isn't that far from downtown Nashua. We had never been there before but it's a beautiful park. The festival consisted of a bunch of tables from different groups with lots of arts and crafts for kids. There were several bounce houses, face painting, and other activities.
Unfortunately, there must have been a lot more people than they were expecting or something because everything had a really long wait - lines at every booth. It was a bit discouraging but we still had a lot of fun!
When we first arrived, Hannah made a magic wand with glitter and stickers - it was fun watching her decide what she wanted to put on it. Ezra also liked how it tasted - oops!
Hannah was also extremely excited that she was able to get temporary tattoos - by the end of the festival she had one on each hand and one on each arm. Who knew it was so easy to make her that happy?
She was mesmerized (and also possibly freaked out?) by a very loud performer doing a puppet show on the stage. She couldn't take her eyes off of the show but also didn't seem to be enjoying it at the same time. I wonder what she was thinking?
The theme of this year's festival was Snow White, so they were handing out masks of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the kids - I picked a Snow White one for her, which she liked wearing. She also had the chance to make a few masks of her own, and do some coloring (of Olaf, of course!).
It was amazing to me that everything at the festival was free - even the pizza!
This was Ezra's favorite part of the whole thing...
After the festival, we headed downtown and had lunch at Riverwalk Cafe and Music Bar - the food was really good and we sat outside to eat, which Hannah really liked.
Then we took a short walk along the river and stopped to look down at the water in a few spots.
Dan and I are going to make our own beer, so we stopped at a local home brew store not too far from there and bought the supplies we need - Hannah had fun exploring the store with us and helped to hold the shopping basket. She was really cute about the whole thing.
There's a bird supply store next door to the beer place so we spent a few minutes looking at the birds they had for sale. She was very curious about them but nervous to touch the bird that the salesgirl was holding at the time (understandably!).
I guess we did a good job of tiring the kids out - they both fell asleep on the way home!
