Berry Picking

A few weeks ago we went to Parlee Farms to do some berry picking!  It was actually the first time I'd ever been strawberry picking myself, and we had a lot of fun.  Hannah seemed to enjoy picking cherries more than strawberries, but she definitely helped us with both.

Tasting the berries
She looks so old in this photo!
Examining a berry
Carrying our berries and a sleeping Ezra
Half of our "loot" - we picked 8 quarts!

After we picked berries, we took the hayride back to the store and got bags for picking cherries.  I think the tractor ride was as much fun for Hannah as the picking was!

I think that Hannah liked picking cherries because she could go under the trees and pick them, rather than bending down and looking through the strawberry plants for ripe ones.

Again, half of what we picked!  We picked a 1/2 peck of cherries.

No trip to Parlee Farms is complete without feeding the animals!

She LOVES using this steering wheel to feed the goats!
The food she gave the goats is almost to the top!
She really enjoyed feeling the goats' horns
Ezra wasn't quite sure what was going on!

Hannah also got to try her first tastes of chocolate milk.  She LOVED it.  It made me happy to see her happy, smiling face...

One final thing - Hannah told me this is her "fruit picking" shirt!

9/7/13 (apple picking) and 7/5/14 (strawberry/cherry picking)
