A Few of Her Favorite Things

I wanted to write down a few of Hannah's current favorites so we don't forget about them!

Elmo

We're not really sure what sparked this obsession, but she is now in LOVE with Elmo (or as she calls him, "Emmo").  She notices him on all kinds of things (even when it's just something that looks like him - any another red cartoon character or even Cookie Monster!).  Nana and Pops sent her a really nice stuffed Elmo, and she loves to play with him.  He even ate snack with us on the day he came in the mail!

Taking him for a walk

We have also discovered that there is a Sesame Street Youtube channel, so we've been watching a lot of Elmo videos there.  I made the mistake of letting her watch them on my mom's phone last weekend, so since then we've had to convince her that it only works on Grandma's phone and not on Mommy or Daddy's phones.  :)

Trains

Again, not sure where this one came from, but she's become more and more interested in trains over the last week or two.  We watched part of an episode of Chuggington yesterday, and she was so happy that I had to videotape her - it's also kind of funny how she says "Choo-Choo."

Dan made up a game with her this morning, and she had so much fun - we pretended to be a train and held onto each other and walked around saying "chugga chugga chugga chugga choo choo" while moving our arms in a circle.  It made her so happy.

Babies

No, not real babies.  She doesn't like them - she gets jealous if I play with other babies.  But she LOVES baby dolls.

Sometimes we take her babies for a "walk" around the house - she will push one in her doll stroller and I'll hold one or push it in a different toy.  She likes to feed them and even asks to change their diapers sometimes.  Judging by the fact that she always fights her friends for the baby dolls at play group, I'm guessing it's a common love for toddlers!

Auntie Kate and Uncle Sean sent her a new baby doll last week - she LOVES her.  She especially likes to take off Clara's shoes.  We're particularly fond of her hair.  She's so pretty.

Playing "Night-Night"

This is by far her favorite game these days.  It's kind of funny - Robin and I invented it by accident, but Hannah loves to play it.  She'll get a blanket and her stuffed animals and ask us to pat her back or her butt and sing to her.  She especially likes to play it when she's sleepy, but doesn't want to admit it or take an actual nap.  At least it's a good quiet activity for when she's tired.

I made the mistake of letting her get into one of our laundry baskets and play "night-night" in there, and now she always asks to play it whenever she sees them.  She likes it if we put a pillow in there with her.

She also notices when others are "asleep" - whenever she sees someone (even a character in a book) whose eyes are closed, she says "night night!"
