Children's Museum

We took Hannah to the Children's Museum on Sunday!  We've been waiting to go for a while, but the timing never seemed to work out.  It was the one museum that Dan had asked me to save for him to enjoy with Hannah before we went with other moms and babies, so I was really excited for it.

Our friends Becca and Josh came along as well, and we always have a great time playing with them - all in all, we had a wonderful afternoon!

The Children's Museum has an area called Play Space that's only for kids under the age of 3.  We spent most of our time there - there was lots to explore!

Hannah had fun playing with a Magna Doodle, but actually spent more time moving it from one spot on the table to the next.  She was having fun sitting in all of the little chairs.  (yes, that's Josh in the background, playing with Dan!)

Next up, she and Josh went for a Sunday drive, complete with car-themed music!  Hannah loved driving the steering wheel, and even made "vroom" noises.  Josh was a great passenger, and he really enjoyed pushing the buttons for the stereo.

They also had a lot of fun playing in a kitchen area - I can't wait to get her a play kitchen, I know that she'll really enjoy playing with it while we're cooking.

I think her favorite part of the whole museum was the Messy Sensory Area.  On Sunday, the activity was called "Bathing Babies" and consisted of a big pool with baby dolls and sponges!  Hannah LOVED giving them baths.  We've even tried to incorporate it at home - she likes it when we soap up her rubber duckies in the bathtub.

One thing to note before you look at these photos - the dolls were anatomically correct.  Good thing she's too little to notice!  :)

She also had a lot of fun playing with the train table - she's actually in the middle of part of it in these photos.  Dan showed her how to sneak underneath so she could stand in a hole in the center of the table.  We'd love to get her a train table someday, but I'm not sure exactly where we'd put it.  Guess we'll keep it in the back of our minds...

After leaving Play Space, we wandered around the rest of the museum just so we could see what else there was to do there.  It's going to be even more fun there as Hannah gets older!  

I didn't take many more photos, but Hannah really liked playing with these fluorescent shapes on a light table so I snapped a couple while she and Dan were exploring what they did:

Once we were done at the museum, we stopped at Flour Bakery for lunch.  YUM!
