Not only can Hannah now sit up on her own for long periods of time, but she has (somewhat) mastered a new skill - moving into a sitting position from her belly!
She's been working on it all day today, and we're wondering if that's why she's been so frustrating about napping for the past few days.
It's great to watch - from lying on her belly, she first pushes up on her arms, then lifts her butt in the air and pulls her one leg around so that her foot is underneath her (and her hands are still on the ground in front of her, with most of her weight on one of her arms). From there, she gets a little wobbly, and sometimes looks like a gorilla to me!
Her next step is to bring her hands closer to her body, and then either lifts one hand off the ground or shifts the other leg around (she's tried it both ways). If she gets the motion correctly, she ends up sitting!
If not, she either ends up on her face or on her side. We're trying not to react when she falls over so that she doesn't get upset about it - sometimes we're successful!
I'll try to catch it on video when I can...
