Hospital Stay

Hannah was born at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Brookline, MA, which is about 45 minutes from our house. I didn't have any sense of what labor felt like, and Hannah was very ready to come... We only got to the hospital about 3 hours before she was born! Oops.

We were very impressed with the hospital - our labor and delivery nurse, Emily, was so nice and made the experience much better. We also really loved the doctor who delivered Hannah, Dr. Okamura - she is actually my OB's partner, but was on call that night.

Hannah's APGAR scores were an 8 and a 9, respectively, which was very reassuring to us. It was such a good feeling to be able to hold her after waiting so many months to meet her! She also passed her hearing test - I joked that I was going to put her first test on the fridge when we got home.

Because she was born so late at night, we were allowed to stay in the hospital until Monday morning. Our parents and Robin came on Saturday to meet Hannah and stay for the weekend. Our good friends Robyn and Jason stopped by too!

All of the nurses on the maternity floor were really nice and helped us to be more comfortable with our newborn. The food at the hospital was even good!

Here are a few more cute photos from the hospital...
